With all the hype (and rightly so) from Greta Gerwig’s July 2023 Barbie movie, starring Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie, Barbiecore trends can be seen almost everywhere, from fashion to decorating your own dream house, and even your wedding day!
What is Barbiecore?
What exactly is Barbiecore? Barbiecore fans know it is not only a look but also a lifestyle. It’s what Barbie herself is all about from an iconic dress code with her signature Barbie pink to embracing a vibrancy and kindness in everyday life. The Barbiecore aesthetic also has a nostalgic appeal as well. Women are recalling simpler days when they dressed up their own Barbie in Barbiecore outfits and honestly, we think it’s fantastic!
Decoding the Barbie Pink Color Code
We’re having a pink moment! Barbie has always been synonymous with her signature color pink, from her pink packaging to the iconic Barbie pink logo. But is there just one Barbie pink? Not necessarily. The color palette spans from bubblegum pink to the hottest of hot pinks.
While Barbie’s pink isn’t the Pantone color of the year for 2023, she does have her own Pantone Barbie Pink Color Code: PMS 219. Mattel also released the Pantone Barbie in 2011 in a dress completely in the exact shade. This pink trend is here to stay, and any shade in the pink palette is Barbie-approved. Incorporating the Barbicore trend into your own wedding fashion can be as simple as having a pink wedding theme.
